I have 1 pearlscale goldfish and 2 dojo's in my tank. I feed my goldfish sinking hikari pellets and my dojo's some tropical crisps. The problem is that my goldfish eats a lot of these crisps also when I feed them and gets constipated and tilty. :irked: Should I just let the Dojo's eat the sinking pellets? the food is a little pricey so I'd rather not, but i don't want my goldfish suffering either!

You cannot feed your goldfish foods that are not designed for them. Just encourage your dojo loaches to try other foods that should also be appropriate for goldfish. Bloodworms, daphnia, gel foods and everything else are taken very easily by both fish.

alright, thanks lupin! Oh also, the sinking pellets sink a little too fast for my pearlscale and once it hits the gravel, he loses it, so I have to feed these to him one by one. any ideas as to how to feed him easier?

Well, there is one way I could think of. Place a dish on the bottom of the tank so he can eat there. He may need some time before he gets used to his favorite dish. My tanks are barebottom so it's easier for all my goldfish and even the slowpokes to eat.

I feed my Goldfish those Livebearer flakes (algae) and frozen/thawed zuchinni, squash & cucumber. It's cheap, good for them and they love it. The 4 Dojos swarm all over it, it's hilarious. I haven't had much luck feeding commercial food to Goldfish. They get bloodworms once a week but other than that they get veggies from the kitchen. I can't seem to throw floating plants in there faster than they can eat them but plants are super good for them, too.

My four dojos and assorted goldfish have all shared a diet mainly of Goldfish Connection ProGold sinking pellets. They occasionally steal some algae wafer or zucchini when I feed my pleco. I don't see any sign that they are troubled by the fairly limited diet.
