I'm thinking about purchasing a large tank somewhere between 90 and 125.
I'm wondering how all-glass compares to oceanic?
Is the oceanic really a better tank, or will I just be paying more for a name?
Which one will the seal last longest on?

Thanks

Oceanic are actualy a division of All Glass.

They do seem to be better made, and more aesthetically pleasing for my taste.. I have no quantitative measure or experience to back that up..

I dare say my next tank will be an oceanic too :)

I've had wonderful luck with perfecto. almost all of my tanks are perfecto. (I also know a guy that works there, they have good quality control)

i realllly like ADA tanks for any setup not just plants. they look "clean" and are made very well.

My vote is for all glass aquarium. I have them and have never had a problem with them.

thanks for the replies.
What is ADA?
I'm looking at petsmart or petwarehouse. I don't really have many options because I live in sort of a rural area. The Oceanic brand is hard to find, so that's why I wondered about the other brands. Petsmart told me they can't order from Oceanic, they just get a few odd ones the oceanic representative sends them. Has anyone else heard of this?

Another option is http://www.glasscages.com/ it was mentioned here recently and I was surprised how good the prices were for a well built tank. Shipping would probably be a deal breaker on a big tank though, they do visit shows accross the nation and have dropp off events also, check thier 'Deliveries/Shows' link to see if they might be in your area.

Just an example. Petsmart 120G $325 or $330... cant remember for sure. Glasscages 120G = $275 wow!

I inquired about shipping but since they are comming to my area next month for a drop-off they said it would be like a $40-50 charge for drop off, so your about inline with PS, but I am assuming I dont have to pay tax atleast, and that perhaps the tank is better. They also have a very wide variety of tanks in odd sizes, more so than any other company I have seen.

Good luck!

I know that Petco will pretty much order a large number of oceanic aquariums.. just not the whole line, and the 3 petsmarts within a 50 mile radius of here all carry them on a regular basis (only like 4 or 5 different ones though)

Oceanic is the high end division of All Glass. If you look at both side by side in your LFS, you will see the quality is much higher on Oceanic. Also, Oceanic does some really interseting designs and stands to match. All Glass does more basic designs, and usually without a matching stand or canopy.
