I have 2 Trop tanks. Temp at 78 degrees.
I would like to add some snails to it. I have a few Rams Horns, but was look for something like a mystery snail. Will they live in a warm tank??

I have corys and barbs in one tankl. Tetras and corys in other.

Yes, but they won't live as long. They'll grow, move, eat, reproduce, and poop at an accellerated rate.

Isn't that really warm for corys?

You know, I often do wonder about this temperature/lifespan thing. You could say that higher temperatures shortens the lifespan of many things simply because of accelerated metabolism - I do wonder if Mystery snails just hit into this norm, or if they actually are subtropical species.

I've always heard it accelerates shell growth, and since they can only get so large...shorter lifespan?

Yes, it does. As a result, the shell growth is also ridiculously thin. My two canas went to the pond and as they tend to lounge around the Egeria densa bed at the surface, their growth was accelerated and to my shock, the shell was extremely thin. Luckily, the shell can still thicken if its growth slows down and provided with plenty of calcium to thicken it. That's the tricky part with high temperature. You don't keep young snails there and hope they grow and then end up with severe shell damage due to injury incidence increased by the thin shells.
