My walmart finally did something great...they got rid of their tanks. They were going to throw them away so one of my friends and I got them and took them to our school. They are like a shelf with the tanks and have an overflow, UV sterolizer, heater, chiller, and a pump on each of them. The lights are 2-40 watt floresents and my science teacher thinks we can add another 2-40 watt fixture over them. I think the tanks are 12 inches high. We can buy different bulbs with the right kelvin rating and everything so what i was wondering is could we house any type of coral in the tanks with florecent.

Thanks Emery

MH are out of the question because the bulb would be way too close to the water. the watts per gallon we could acheive would be 5.3 watts per gallon and we could get 20,000k's and actinics. What could be keep with out problems?

I would care for the tanks, i am a student custodian so i have keys and can take care of it and my boss really likes the idea. I don;t think the MH will fit under the hoods will take some pictures tomorrow if i can. We also have a 210 gal tank with 3 175 watt MH and 2 actinics but it is a freshwater tank right now. Next year we are gonna turn it into a salt water.
