I bought a tiger tail cucumber a week ago at my LFS. I was told that this was one of the less toxic and easy to keep. I am now researching more about this and keep getting mixed things. I am worried about it killing off my tank. It seems very healthy. I am considering taking it back to the LFS, If I do this what is the best way to get it out of my tank. What do should I do?

They are the less toxic ones out of the cucumbers we can have..This variety really only deposit its toxic organs on death or if severely stressed...as long as its in a tank with peacefull tank mates, it should be fine.

You should be fine, I have one, have had it for over a year now and no problems. It will disappear in the rock work or sand for a couple of weeks and then pop up again. Like Niko said, they are less toxic than other species.

They make nice additions to the cleanup crew.

I had 4 of them, now only 3, nothing happened in my tank, not to say it won't in yours though(it was a Tiger Tail), the other 3 are just yellow cucumbers. I agree with Niko and gomrjoe. They do make excellent sand cleaners. I have never had any problems with algae growing on the sand bed. They are most active at night. If it is going to constantly stress you out with it being in there, then I'd say take it back. If not, one of the best things for clean up crew, IMO.
