just to see who thinks tht tetra aquasafe is the best de-chloriner.

Honestly, as long as it removes the vital chemicals I don't really care about the brand!! However it seem like a lot of people on here are particular about what they use, so there may be good reason for that! I usually just get whatever the particular store that I'm at has, usually jungle start right. Then again, I don't really see some of the brands that I've heard about on here either, the place I usually go to is pretty small!

Prime rules!!!!!!!!!!! I use prime. it is my favorite. Sometimes I use stress zyme, too.

I use AquaSafe from Tetra for it's affordable and iy also eliminates cloramines. I'm not sure if I have them in my tap water, but don't want to take risks. I recently swuitched from the Aquarium Product, to the pond one, which is cheaper and according to Tetra's Costumer Service, it can be used in tanks as well.

I wil throw another question: how is this product supposed to be used when doing water changes:

1- Put the amount of Aquasafe in the empty bucket and fill it with water.
2- Fill the bucket, apply the declorinator and then stir it.
3- Re-Fill the tank with tap water and then add the equivalent amount of declorinator.

I've never seen instruction about this in any product. Also, how logn does it take for the declorinator to work.

i pour water in bucket, add aqua safe, then add to tank 30-60 seconds later

Safety is the best thing you can do. I would imagine it bad for any un treated water to be with fish for any length of time. Plus i only add enough aquasafe for the amount in the bucket. Do not add enough to redo whole tank, probably not a good thing to do.

i use prime or amquel, usually prime now

for the pond dechlor users i would be careful. a guy i know used some on his water changes because it was all the store had left. a lot of his fish died after water changes, it turns out the pond stuff is only a half dose.
