Does anyone use this product, or know anything about it. It says it stabalizes ph and kh, and it adds granules that reduce nitrate and food that algae needs to grow?

I'd rather stick to routine water changes. Adding more stuff to your water to remove unwanted stuff sounds no good to me.

For algae removal, your best bet is to avoid overfeeding and keep nitrates low. This is best achieved by the water changes.

also, youe water changes help you keep a stable hardness and pH, without the nedd of buying expensive or cheap chemichals.

i am unfamiliar with the product, but it sounds like it uses a phosphorus based buffer system, and could contribute to algae problems in the long run.

i'm of the popular opinion that its unnessary and undesired to try to change the pH of your source water with commercial products... you are better off using RO water to reduce pH. or crushed coral to raise it. peat is also used to lower pH with varying degrees of success.

what is your current pH, and what are you trying to accomplish...

sorry, no experience with that product in particular.

my ph is 8.2 with tanganyika cichlids. I don't want to change my ph, this product just claims to stabalize ph and kh. I wouldn't use it if it change my ph but it would be nice to stabalize these numbers

a tank will tend to stabalize on its own over time, with regular waterchanges, and anything you add is likely to create more difficulty in the long run, in my experience.

My mrs does the advertising for Tetra in the UK. I have loads of the stuff (and loads of free food!) and have never even thought of using it. It suggests on the bottle that it can keep aquarium water "fresh" for 6 months without a change.
Can't trust that myself so never used it in my tank. My bottle doesn't mention anyting ablout KH stabilisation.

As it happens I tested a small amount of it that i mixed up in a test tube with some tank water -- exact same readings as the control i did just with tank water.
There's def an additive that isn't soluble though (correction could be solluble in saturated solution) as it has "bits" in it like fresh OJ
