Tank sump design

Nice find hatch. Got the drain built for my sump, seems to be working really well so far, though I only have 1 tank on it. I'm not anticipating any problems when I add them though.

Yeah, I saw your drain! Very nice/clean....a lot like I hope mine turns out. It looks like your going to use tubing to join the tanks to the common PVC drain??? Correct? I'm thinking of going this route too. What size are u using?

Yes, there are barbed fittings coming out of the overflow drains, and barbed fittings on the drain, so I'm just going to hook them up with a piece of 1" ID tubing. I'm hoping that I can get the overflows in toward the middle on all the tanks so each one only has about a foot or so of tubing, and then run the spray bars to the other ends of each tank.

Alright, I've got TONS of pics but my USB ports got fried this weekend somehow????? Sooo.....I'm not sure I'll ever be able to post pics or print again. My speakers don't work either so I'm waaaaay bummed.

Anyway, I did some math and my final inventory is......

(4) 20g tanks
(4) 15g tanks
(6) 10g tanks

I'll probably run 2 20g's and 2 15g's off one wet/dry and the other pairs of another wet/dry.

Then, all six 10g's will be run off an air pump for fry hatching/early rearing.

Question........ does anyone see a problem with running the thermometers in the wet/dry's??? Each wet/dry will be supplying 70g's but it will have much more air/surface area than the typical 70g. Sooo....I was wondering, with the quick exchange rate in the sump, will the thermometer in the sump be able to keep the tanks at a constant temp?

With big enough heaters it won't be a problem. I don't think it would cause any issues by putting them there.

LOL, I just realized I kept saying thermometer when I meant heater. Thanks for your response, apparently you were able to decipher my code. LOL

haha i didn't even realize it...but yeah i guess i knew what you were trying to say anyway.
