I thinking about getting some Pseudotropheus saulosi from the LFS (2 for $25), maybe 3 females with 1 male. It says on the fish profiles that they would be able to fit in a 15G minimum?... I was wondering how big of a tank would they really need. Would a 29G be enough for that quartet of cichlids?

A long 30G tank would be absolute minimum. I have kept Saulosi's for over ten years and love them.

Please remember that they live in a lake and whatever you provide is too small for them. Try to get them at least a 60G. A six footer would be nice.

ok... So I guess I won't be getting them (although I wasn't planning in the first place) :P

It's good to know for future reference. I would like to get them once I start a Lake Malawi tank.

Thank you very much
