I have a 75 uk gallon tank.(4 month old) with just 1 gold severum ( male i think, 2inch) , i don't know if to get another severum to go with him? also, what other type of cichlids can go with him? thankyou

I'm personally a big fan of Chocolate Cichlids. They grow large and won't pick on your Sev.

My sev lives happily with a blood parrot. I was also considering adding the both of them to my 75 gallon with 2 angels and 2 festivum. Semi aggressive cichlids with similar water needs would be good. A school of barbs or black skirt tetras are alright, but you need at least 6 to keep nipping of the fins down. Danios are also pretty good tankmates.

i have my severum with 2 convicts and 1 oscar and they get along well they get aggressive sumtimes but nothing big never had a problem with them

I agree...I have a severum and a chocolate together in a south amercian cichlid community tank right now...a green severum with a lot of red on its belly and a rich red/brown chocolate cichlid...they "challenge" each other, but its just show. I have kept and bred severums for years...one of the best things about them is that they GENERALLY don't go looking for trouble with more peaceful cichlids, yet they can hold their own with more aggressive ones. A truly beautiful, hardy fish that has a 'regal" air about it...even when I'm not breeding them, I always have a few around in my show tanks.

I have a female Blood Parrot that paired up with a Jack Dempsey I had but the Dempsey died and now she paired up with my male Gold Severum.

They get along great. I would also reccomend a blood Parrot.

I have two Geophagus Jurupari with my two Gold Severums they get along fine.
