I was just admiring my fish and noticed some unusual (nothing I'd seen in my tank before) activity in the group of platys. The males are chasing after the females relentlessly, lol. It's a sad, pathetic sight, really
The male's tails are a bright red now, is this normal during breeding behavior? And if this is infact mating activity, how long can I expect before seeing fry? I'm not interested in keeping any, really... but I know my angels would love a snack such as this
The platys have been in the tank for several weeks and this is the first time I've noticed this. How many times a year do they normally breed? And is it possible for the 2 males to mate with all 6 females at once? That's a whole lotta fry!
