Stocking ideas for a 20 gallon community tank

There are a lot of fish that go with neon terras. Corry catfish are cool, IMO. THere are a ton of other terras, cardinal terras, Gold Terras, White cloud minnos, ghost shrimp, guppies, just to name a few. I think that an african dwarf frog would even be ok, but I might be wrong. Note that terras are schooling fish, so you should get at least 6, and also they dont take too well to cycling, so get your other fish first, cycle the tank, then get your neon terras. Is your tank a 20 long, or 20 high, as the 20 long could hold a few more fish, also what type of filtration do you have. This should help people give you a good idea of what you can get.

I would suggest a fishless cycle, if you have the will power. It will take longer, but it would be better for your fish. Details for cycling are on a stickie. But with plants the cycling should go faster. If you can get substrate from your lfs, it would help as well. I'm just a newbie, but believe in the fishless cycling. It's a pain in the donkey to do it if you're in a hurry, but it's the best way to a happy, long living tank.(imo)

No knifefish. I am fairly sure they get up to a foot and they are pretty darn aggressive.

How about you stick with the neons.
My idea (I am really good with this stuff)
9 neon tetras
3 small cories
3 platies
3 guppies
That looks good IMHO! ;)

Good Luck!!!
