hey folks. I got a quick and easy question here. where are you guys placing your canister filter spray bars? I have mine roughly in the middle of the tank, pointing slightly downward towards the rear glass piece. I also have a small powerhead sweeping a current across the bottom from the right side.
The reason I ask is for floating or long plants, I dont like how it gets pushed to one area rather then spreading out or standing tall. any suggestions or advice on spray bar placement would be appreciated.

I would put it about 1" below surface and pointed semi down, but only a little.

before today, I was running a co2 feed into the canister filter at the intake. I diced to remove the DIY CO2 until I get my pressurized set up fully accuired (I have a tank but no regulator, and the tank is empty). I removed the CO2 because according to my drop checker there was too much for the fish to remain happy ie.. it was very yellow in color rather then green.
I need to get more gas exchange going on to let some of that excess co2 out of the water, pointing the spray bar down does not really let much agitation of the surface happen.
I made the suggested change to the angle of the spray bar, it also pushes the plants forward, and all the floating plants into one corner. I have the day off work, so I m just going to play with it all day until I fin the sweet spot

Mine are placed at the end of the tank so it is spraying the length of the aquarium and spraying almost straight.

I have my spraybar mounted on the left side, near the top and pointing slightly downward. My intake is near the left, rear corner. This way, I get a counterclockwise flow all around the tank.

thanks for the suggestions. I decided that in my quest for better water movement I would switch things up. I moved the intake to the left rear corner and the output to the right rear corner, I have it facing backwards towards the glass and slightly down. Then I added a powersweep to create water movement in the lower part of the stem plants where I have been seeing the most BBA. the plants are all holding a good tall position and it seems there is much better water circulation. The one other thing I did in order to create better flow was I removed one of the down pieces to my intake, so now, rather then being right near the bottom its about 1/3 the way from the gravel bed.

I'm setting up a new 40 breeder with my first filter that doesn't hang off the back (Rena XP2). I've got the intake on the right rear (looking at the tank) and outlet bar on the left side, 1"-1 1/2" from the top, angled very slightly down. Don't know if this is the best setup but t is what I got.
