It gets the job done. I have the one that has the single suction cup and don't like it as much since it sags when I do heavier water changes. Besides that shrimps like it since it ads flow to swim with o against.
i use that one (or one varry similar) in my 5.5 shrimp tank and i like it is easy to clean and the shrimp seem to really like it not much else to say about it
I also have the 1 with the single suction cup, and it keeps my 5.5 gal pleco growout tank clean. Very easy to use and clean. You'll like it. Good luck.
Sponge filters are my favorite filters. With regular tank cleaning and water replacement they are really all you need unless you have some big fish. They are amazing with bioload, are easy to clean, and best of all, they are cheap!
You can also do sponge filter combinations with other filters. I have a sponge filter over the intake of my HOB. I find that it works pretty well at keeping the plants from getting sucked into the filter intake. Works great as a pre-filter filter too
