Homemade Food for Red Parrot Cichlid

Is there a fish food recipe out there that you can make specifically for red parrot cichlids? I want to make it cuz I think it might taste better thant the commercial products.

Somebody beat you to such a creation. But I wouldn't even go out of my way to buy something like this, as it would probably too expensive and not worth going out of your way for.

For simplicity and nutrition I use Wardley's Premium Cichlid small pellets. It comes in a resealable bag and both my parrot cichlids (and my Severum) seem to enjoy it. I also give them a treat of bloodworms 2x a week. So I'm not concerned about using a Blood Cichlid SPECIFIED commerical food. I use whatever the most ideal and easy food is for my fish. I found it in this brand. Just my two cents.

in adition to the bloodworms mentioned above, you can give your fish saltwater seafood, any vegetable they will eat, and any fruit thy will eat, preferably atleast 1-2 times per week. This will give a much better diet that your parots will enjoy much more than any prepared food.

Also: any freze dried or sterilized frozen food can be given as well, but fresh foods like the ones mentioned above will give a better nutritional value.

Please note: blood parots are mutant fish wich can't close thier mouth, wich is why some people don't like them. This most likely gets in the way of feeding certain foods wich the two original species would have no problem eating.

Well I was actually looking for a recipe I could make for my red parrots. I guess it doesn't have to be specifically for them, as long as it makes them get big and bright in color. Anyone know of a good one?
