Hello,

I just got a couple of sparkling gouramis for a 5 gallon.

When I did my initial research, the pages I was looking at were recommending 72-78F temperature range. Now I see that many page are recommending a 78-86F temperature range.

So which is it? My tank sits at about 75-75F during the day due to the light and drops to room temperature (~72F) when the light is off. Is this ok? or should I add a heater?

Thanks!

I don't actually know the answer, but I'd love to see pics of the fish....

if i read info that said 72 to 78 and then 78 to 86, my guess would be shoot for around 78. i dont have any experience with this fish but thats what i would do given the info provided. I would recommend a heater, their cheap enough fpr a 5 gal, and once its set it will maintain a temp. consistency can be key u know...

There are quite a few 25 watt heaters over on the Dr. Foster & Smith web site.

78º is a good temp to have their tank at. anything less than 76º would be to cold.
:iagree: I'd keep the temp between 78-82 degrees. I have them myself in a tank with temp of around 80-82.:) Colder than 76 might just make them become lethargic.

Hydor Theo 25w. Great little heater, and it has a temperature adjustment dial so you can set the temp you want. I have one, no complaints.
