snails stuck together???

2 of my snails have been , um, stuck together since last night...

is this how they mate?

they are apple snails, one is liek 3 or 4 " the oher is like 1-1.5"

or is one eating the other one?

i have tried to determine their sex, but all i can be sure about is the female is the really big one if i got the shell shape correct

any advice one what they are doing woudl be appreciated.

it depends how they are stuck together. It's pretty obvious when they are mating. As one inserts something under the other ones shell.

Or it could just be eating algae off the other ones shell.
