what is the best snail that reproduces like crazy in tanks? i want to get a small container and get some snails to breed like crazy. They will end up being fish food.

Regular pond snails seem to breed like crazy in my 50 until the loaches get hungry. They just seem to pop up overnight. They didn't really start flourishing until I raised my KH with crushed coral (needed it for their shells.)

Ask your LFS and get the snail's that drive them nuts cause all there tanks are infected with them. Thats what i did got 10 of them through them in a 2 gallon fish bowl with gravel in the bottom and throw in some fish food once in awhile. I cant really count how many i have but lets just say there's hundreds of them in there after a couple weeks
The big question is how big are the fish that will eat them. Pond snails are fast to multiply, but not much to eat for largish fish. red ramshorns get much bigger and multiply quickly as well, but not at the rate pond snails do.

I would get a mic of ramshorn and pond snails. I place mine in a small contrainer (2 gallon or so) with lots of gravel and plants and some sea shell and then feed them fresh veggies, especially brocolli. I get lots of snails that way.
