Shrimp hanging around the sponge filters

Alot of my shrimp like to hang around the sponge filters.
Either on top, botton or on the sides.

What do you think the reason is?

Is the water cleaner around the filters, less ammonia, etc?
More current around the filters?
Or is it because there is food/algae on the filters?

they eat the junk caught on the sponge and clean it for you,..lol are try to,..lol my are always there eating particles of food we can't see,..

Yeah, that sponge filter is a shrimp smorgasboard!!
Or shrimp buffet for you young 'uns...

My shrimp like to ambush my bladder snails there too.
