Ok so i got a tank now its a 3ft comes with hood and stand. and twin fluro holder in the hood.

now for the filter im looking at a fluval 305 its quite cheap and seems to get good reviews. Think this is a good idea? i got my credit card ready.

Note: This is going to be a walstad tank setup filter is mainly for water flow and a bit of mechanical filtration.

Any names for heaters i was thinking of getting 2 one for each end of the tank to keep the temp even and also if one breaks.

What tubes should i be running in this hood and how long should the run for? looking for low to medium light plants

Any other suggestions let me know im all fins hehe

Sera, Eheim or Visitherm although Visitherm seems to get plenty of good reviews compared to others. Good idea to get two heaters. I usually run my lights by 10 hours. For low-lighting plants, you are looking for 1-2 wpg.

Stealth heaters are really good. Keep in mind the ambient room temp when deciding what size heater to purchase.

Since it's a natural tank a HOB will do just fine and they're cheaper than a canister. I like AquaClears on my natural tanks. Lots of different media can be utilized, it can be filled with just AC's foam and/or floss since you just want mechanical filtration. I don't find any problems with to much surface agitaion and the AC's can be adjusted for less flow if needed.
