I have a female guppy and for the last couple weeks shes been looking a little sick. well...I gave her meds and so the spots she had went away but her gills are red now. Anyway the problem is now shes really really bloated like shes pregnate. but her belly is lopsided. like one side is smashed. Will she be ok? she looks strange/

She dropped her last batch of fry on december 16... after that she got sick

I have three fry, one male, one female guppy. Heater is at 82 degrees.

82 is too much heat. Gradually back it down to about 78....this is a typical tropical fish temp. Guppies are considered tropical, not coldwater fish.

Guppies don't always drop their whole load of fry at one time. Sometimes only 5-6 may appear over the course of a few days. Unfortunately, giving birth leaves the female in a weakened state and she could have contracted something. What were you treating for? Ich?

if her gills are red check your ammonia levels. also, if you have pictures that would help.

good luck with her!

Ok I'm gradually turning down the heat its at about 80 right now and it should drop some more in a few hours. Also I was treating her with parasite clear and with fungus clear. Because she had both symptoms from each...she had white spots, the a black eye, she was thin(I assumed that was from giving birth) her fins were crappy looking like she was rotting. And after the spots went away she got red gills. I will get my water checked too, so I can let you know what the levels are. I stopped letting the light stay on so much and I was also wondering if I should take her out and put her in just a small glass tank with clean shallow water (no filter, no light) for a few days...and really clean out my tank because she is shaped reallyyyy funny her whole stomach is huge but one side is mashed in and in the back where her dark spot is its red, and polking out so shes sorta triangular and then pointed in the back.

it looks like she may have had some of her babies and ust had them on one side.. and she might have the otehr side.. from what you are describeing .. and if your fish are kinda hungry the fry may not live .. snack time
here is a link to the pics i posted of my guppy givieng birth .. they also give birth head first then tail first.. and that redish brown spot you are talking about is were the babies used to be .. i guess she just had them on the one side .. and gonna have the other side soon .. just watch her closely ..
