Do severums tend to color up with age or do they stay the same basic tone as when they are younger? Also, is there any sexual dimorphism, specifically in the golds and reds? I'm in the market for one and I've decided that I want either a red or a gold with very deep coloring and bright spots.

I'm no expert but I think thattTheir true colors seem to develop over time. I have two juvenile red shoulder severums who were striped with a reddish tinge to their fins. Now I can see some green and blue coming out in their bodies.

there are a few ways to tell males from females...males will have longer and more pointed fins than females

Males will also have lots more dots on their faces usually. Yes they color up with age.

:iagree:

My sevs are so young to fall in love.:headshake2: Spawned twice I think.:lipssealedsmilie:
