I like both of these fish (Serpae Tetras -Long Fin vs Harlequin Rasboras). Could they be together? I know Serpae can be nippers...How big of a tank do they need? Will 20g or 10g or a larger tank be needed like 40g+?

If they cannot be together; what fish can I have that goes with Serpae Tetras? How many Serpae Tetras is needed; I'm not sure if they schoal.

or What kind of fish would go well with Harlequin Rasboras (around 6 of them)?

The bigger the tank is always better, for any fish--Schooling fish like the room. For Serpae or Harlequins there is a long list----Emperors, Diamonds, Black skirts, H/T lights, Lemon--all tetras. Barbs---Golden, Tiger, Rosy, Ruby, ect.

i have 6 harlequin rasboras and a betta in a 10 gallon. they get along good. the rasboras look nothing like the betta, so the betta is alright with them. the only aggression that comes from the betta towards them is feeding time. i drop in the flakes for the rasbos and then put the pellets in for my betta. the betta is a porker so he goes right for the top of the tank when he sees me and eats some of the flakes and gets mad about the rasbos dashing to the top of the tank for food quicker than him.
the good thing about this though is that he rasbos are too quick for the betta.
plus, the betta likes to swim around in the plants and the rasbos like the open water. i find its a good mix. the snails just mind their own business.
theyre all going to a 20 gallon soon:)

Serpaes are bigger and more aggro, I'd go with a 29 or a 30L. I'd put them with a clown loach or Ancistris pleco or clown plecos, 1~2 giant danios, Maybe a few blue tetras(Another aggro Tetra) and a silver dollar. Maybe get around 8 serpae. To stock more gotta get a good filter though

Serapaes should be fine with harlequins. They are both fast swimmers/feeders, and harlequin fins are short enough not to be a nipping risk. Love the look of the lf serapaes, they are really gorgeous...

What size will this tank be in the end? Silver dollars, clown loaches and giant danios demand a spacious tank, no smaller than 55g for a start.
