I am planning on getting one of these for my 29 reef. The descriptions sound about the same but I know AquaVitro is supposed to be Seachem's better/premium line. Has anyone used both? As far as I can tell they are about the same. I am just wondering which would be more beneficial or if the Aqua Vitro Fuel is worth the extra money.

It seems like the Fuel is a more bioavailable form of vitamins and nutrients, primarily because it is bound in food organisms (Chlorella spp. algae from the description). If you have a wide variety of filter feeders, that could be beneficial. Keep in mind that the only animals that feed on phytoplankton are Tridacnid clams (to some extent), some soft corals, and that's about it. Reef Plus may or may not even do any good when added to the water. If it were a plain vitamin supplement, it would likely be fine, if not beneficial to add it to foods, but I don't like the boosted metal content in it, myself (so I wouldn't use it at all, not to mention in foods).

I have used both, and honestly, did not notice any difference at all in the tank. The only additives I am putting in my tanks now are B-Ionic, Aquavitro Vibrance (Iodide), and Seachem Reef Strontium. I noticed a BIG difference in polyp extension once I started using the Iodide and strontium.
