ok i was wondering if these were aquarium safe or not

the exact package says Scotch-Brite No Scratch Multi-Purpose

i am a bit nervous because it says not for aquarium use but all of the sponges did including ones ive seen used here before and ones ive used personally myself. now nowhere on the package does it say it has any chemicals in the scrubby pads.

sometimes when they say not for aquarium use.. they mean for cleaning purposes as it will scratch the glass/acrylic

I personally have never used these.. but if they say there is no chemicals.. I would think they would be ok-- just soak them first to be safe

Read the package. Some will say not for aquarium use.The have anti mildew stuff in them that will kill the bio filter.

this is the no scratch pads that are supposed to be safe for Teflon and other non stick surfaces and it is just a scrubby pad no sponge at all

and it says nothing about being anti mildew and i wont be using it on an already setup tank im gonna be using them to clean empty tanks i got recently that are kinda grubby

OHHHH

if you are using them to clean new tanks then yes that is totally fine

I thought you were using them as bio-media lol

hhmm ive never though of using it as biomedia but that is a darn good idea if i could find rectangular ones. anybody have any links to ones that would work for biomedia?

one of the best sponges i found are eco-friendly sponges. the fiber on thos things seem to scratch off hard green algae incredibly easily. and they dont' scratch at all.

ok sounds good im going to hav to look into that because id love to *** more biofiltration to the filter that is going to go into my 2.5g
