I ready the sticky on good foods for plecos but I'm having trouble getting my pleco the food itself. Would it be adventagous to get a veggie clip and clip up the veggies at night? My rubbernose is very shy and my snail seems to be getting all the food before he gets a chance.

I'm in the same boat you are...I have two. I've put in zucchini, sweet potato, spinach, mushrooms, algae wafers, veggie wafers, among other things...so far, they don't take it. They are, however, eating some of the algae on the glass, which I am not cleaning at the moment. I'm just going to wait it out for now...when they get hungry, they should eat. Maybe someone will have better suggestions...as they are very shy. I've had mine for about 2 weeks. The snails are loving what they don't eat. :)

Try lacing the foods with garlic to tempt the pleco.:) I also often observe most tend to show up more often if they have company with another loricariid or at least a member of their own species. It depends on tank size and species though.:)

My clown plecos (Panaque maccus) took three months to recognise courgette as food (most plecs seem to take a week to two weeks), but now (since I moved the apple snails) eat it pretty well.
