rubber bands

Well i thought i'd ask. better be safe then sorry. I have a rubber band in my tank that i am using to hold somethin place will this do anything to my water. I have heard of rubber bands being used to hold frags in place but i want to check

Hmm, good question. People use rubber bands all the time to hold down frags, hold foods in place, etc. I'm not sure I trust them though. Plus, they kind of break down over time. I can just see a few small pieces of rubber band making their way into my tangs mouth.

Instead, I use thread and a needle for attching frags to rock and I use a veggie clip to hold my nori/lettuce in place

I agree with gcvt: They may be ok for short term use (few days). Try gcvt idea, or you could use the plastic tie wraps. They come in all sizes.
