I have a 90 gallon fish tank whose only occupant is a female Red Devil. She's definately still a juvi. If I were to get a similarly sized Jack Dempsey do you think they'd be okay together? I know with Cichlids it's always a gamble, especially the more aggressive ones. Anyhoo let me know what you think. Thanks =D

I'll rearrange my tank and make sure there's lots of cover. Is space going to be an issue? I know these guys get fairly big.

It might work for a few weeks/months but usually RD's get meaner with age.

Red Devils get more aggressive with age not to mention bigger. JD dont get as big an not nearly as mean. If you got a second aquarium planned try it if not I would risk it.

Is there another large mean cichlid I could keep with my Red Devil or would that require a larger tank?

Thanks

Cichlids are so unpredictable it is really hard to say.A flowerhorn maybe.I'm not sure if 90 gallons is big enough for both though.

convicts might be able to avoid the RD, if u give'em caves.... just make sure the convicts are smaller than the RD or they might do the bullying at first...

Why would you want another Cichlids in the tank if it has to hide out it's whole life? On a side note Convicts can be nasty but I personally would go with a larger robust Cichlid and try and raise them together.
