Rainbow Shark and Kribensis tankmates?

Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of cycling a new 29g aquarium.. I have some real driftwood and fake silk plants (lots of hiding spots!) in there at the moment. My question is: what are some suitable tankmates for a rainbow shark? I find the species beautiful and fascinating but I want to be able to have more than just one fish in my tank, even though I've read that they can get quite aggressive. Is there even one other type of freshwater fish that can get along fine with them?

If there isn't really anything that will work with a rainbow, what about the kribensis? I also love them and am wondering which fish species I can keep with them? Oh also, I've read that they should be kept in pairs, but I do not want to breed them, so would it be ok to get just one kribensis? Or is that unkind?

Thanks a bunch! :)

A shark will outgrow a 29g, they really need a 4ft tank when 5 inch adults. A single kribensis is fine & won't be as aggressive if not breeding. Any of the deeper bodied tetras would work, neons might be too bite sized. Corys should be ok too.
