I have a 37g tank and currently only 15lbs of LR, Only one of my LR has the nice looking purple algae (not sure what to call it). Is there a way to promote the spred of this algae to other rocks?

If lighting is important, all i have are the flourescent lights that came w/ my AquaVia tank.

the algea is called Coraline, and its spread is promoted through good lighting and calcium levels in the water. I have Power Compact Lighting on my tank and the Calcium levels are around 400ppm and I have it not only on my rocks but all over the back glass of the tank.

Get a calcium test kit, and see what your calcium levels are. If they are 300ppm or lower, get a calcium suppliment for your tank, such as a 2 part Bionic system or Kalkwasser and dose the tank as the instructions say.

I have no idea what your lights are so I can't comment on if they are bright enough or not. But Coraline doesn't really need a ridiculous amount of light to grow.

Depending on the origination of the coraline will determine its need for light. most of the purples can grow quite well in medium to low lighted tanks providing they have good water movement, calcium (as noted) and the right spectrum of lighting. I like to keep the calcium levels up around 450 and for some reason I have a hard time doing that over here so I do have to supliment with magnesium as well.
