Pump in 10g

I have an Elite 800 in a 10g. It seems very powerful & sure moves the water. I'm getting neon & cardinal tetras, along with fancy guppies. Will the force of the bubbles annoy these fish?? & if so, how do I diffuse the water to a tolerable degree? I am very new to all of this. (Hadn't even hooked my filter up properly - just discovered that. lol.) :help:

& yes, I did read the manuals.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

According to what I just searched, that pump is recommended for 10 gallon tanks. You could just experiment with different air stones and other diffusers until you found one that made bubbles that seem just right.

You also don't NEED an air pump in a filtered 10 gallon aquarium at all unless you're running a traditional UGF or an air-driven filter.

You have a couple of options. You can y off the tubing and run more air stones, or you can put a simple ditribution block that you put the one air hose into and there are valves for multiple lines out. (they are a couple of bucks at the LFS) Then just open a valve that bleads off air into the room. You do not just want to reduce the air flow to the stone because that will put excess preassure on your air pump and wear out the pump diaphram (ask me how I know that).

The green/blue bubble wands by Marineland and Aqua Tech are great!!! You can wipe it off and let it dry if it clogs, and it will work again. The smaller the bubbles, the more water flow so try a coarse air stone. You can also punch holes in the tubing with a needle. Are you using a check valve? If so, punch the holes through the tubing closer to the pump, so it won't back siphon in the result of a power outage.
