Protein skimmer and duckweed?

I have lots of tiny duckweed on an open tank.
Is a protein skimmer a good idea? Would it clog
up with the plants?

Protein skimmers aren't really necessary on freshwater tanks, and yes, it probably would clog.

and the duckweed is already soaking up some of the organics for ya. Just net out a bunch periodically and pitch it.

a protein skimmer on a freshwater tank is totally useless wont hurt anything but wont do anything either.
