So about 2 months back I bought a Chi for my CT betta to reside in, but didn't do anything to it except throw in gravel and a Radican marble sword. This is what it used to look like:

We finally got sick of looking at it, so after some research, a bunch of reading on this forum, and saving money, we took the dive. I hated the light and filter combo, so we took a razor blade and took it off and cleaned all the silicon off of the glass. We started with Brightwell Florin Volcanit Rio Cafe 3mm:

Then we used a piece of Malaysian driftwood and Caribsea Woodstone for the hard scape

We decided to go with Helfori porti, Rotala roundifolia, Micranthemum umbrosum, Isoetes lacustris, and Baby tears. Here's us planting them:

Then we filled it up using the air hose method, and while it took forever, the water didn't cloud up at all!

We added our CO2 and light, and within 20 minutes of it running we had pearling!

And yes, it was pearling, and not just trapped air underneath lol. We are using an Azoo filter(not pictured), and a 27w Archea light fixture. We'll also be running a heater for the betta and dosing with Nitrogen, Potassium, and Iron with micro nutrients. Also, we will be adding a black backround. Right now, we only have two Nerite Tiger As this is our first aquascape, any CC is appreciated!

And for the final product:

Thanks for looking!

That's a very nice tank. I was thinking of getting a Fluval Chi and just using the plant box, but this way works much better!
