Has anyone ever had or heard of a problem with these fish living together? Thanks.

That was the combo that got me wanting to keep fish. A friend of mine had a 125 "show" tank with a huge beautiful oscar and a trio of tinfoils (also huge!). She also had some sort of pleco in there. It was very stunning and I adored watching her feed them. She would distract the oscar with some worms while the tinfoils got fed something else on the other end of the tank by her husband. I haven't talked to her in years...wonder whatever happened to that tank.

Yeah, I've heard that they make pretty good tank mates. I'm just a little worried that my Oscar will not like them since he has been alone his whole life and then he gets some tinfoils thrown in there. He's about 9-10" right now. My tinfoils are about 4" right now. Do you think that will work out?

no. oscars need to be raised with their tank mates. otherwise there will be a lot of agression and the smaller fish could end up as a snack. however, if they're raised together from babies, the oscar will 99% of the time get along great with "his" fish, even sometimes killing and eating fish of the same species as "his" fish that are added later.

Exactly what I didn't want to hear, but exactly what I needed to hear. It's kinda what I assumed anyways. My Oscar is pretty big right now, and he's pretty aggressive.
