where can i find an online shop for a cheap 75 gallon tank and hood? also i think i am going to get a stand for this tank off of ebay since they are cheap. does anyone know where i can find a quality yet well priced stand other than ebay? thanks.

If you are looking for a glass tank online, I would warn you that freight and handling will probably be quite expensive. Most companies won't even ship a single aquarium because it isn't cost effective. When Oceanic makes a custom aquarium for someone, it gets shipped to a wholesaler with all the other aquariums the wholesaler ordered.

Having done the purchasing for a lfs in Colo. Springs, I can tell you from personal experience that a lfs doesn't typically make a whole lot of profit on a tank or stand. We would mark up 20%.

Acrylic can be an exception to this because it is light and strong, so shipping can be less expensive (weighs less, breaks less). Tenecor makes great acrylic aquariums. US Aquarium also makes a good acrylic tank and they are in Denver, but as far as I know they only sell wholesale.

We just bought a beautiful 80g from Pets Mart for only a little over $200 including tax, etc. That's the cheapest place we could find outside the paper which had nothing. And it is a high quality tank with glass top and fluorescent light included.

I've looked at tons of catalogs and web sites and never once have I seen a tank available for shipping. The risk of a store shipping a glass tank is insane. Suck it up and go around to your LFS and buy from them..talk to the mom and pop places and see if they'll let you make payments.

hey thanks for all the info guys. i didn't think about the chance of breaking the glass tanks. i just thought online would be the cheaper route rather than a LFS.

sunny.... thanks for the info i will go check out petsmart thats a great deal for a tank with hood and lighting and everything.
