I've had my male Betta for 2 weeks now and he seems so pleased with his new tank, especially since I added a couple of plants last week - he's just loving it.

This morning I checked the tanks/fish (like usual) and I noticed that my Betta has made a bubble nest! He's still swimming around all over the place and looks really healthy, so he must be really comfortable with his new home, which I'm really pleased about!

He's still working on it as I'm typing this!

Here are a couple of photos:

pretty boy. I especially like his red pelvis fins :)

I've never really had male bettas who made bubble nests. But my most recent one did, and I put my hand through it, not knowing it was there. It stuck to my arm and surprised me! Those things are thick and sticky.

Thanks! :)

Haha! :D I know.. I was kind of surprised because I thought that females would be the ones to make bubble nests. I think he might have his eye on my other fish....... When I first saw it I thought "Oh my god.. what is that growing in my tank!" and then I realised! :D

Before I came to this forum and really got into fish keeping, I always used to think that when my betta had that (the bubble nest) in his tank that his water was just bad so I would change his water and remove the nest.....lol. The things you learn on this forum make you feel so stupid when you were doing it on your own. I have learned so much in the past year.

One of my bettas was hard to please in his tank set-up. When I finally got things the way he liked (in particular adding a live plant), he surprised me with a bubble nest. I was tickled! Congrats on your happy betta!

Thanks everyone! :)
His nests aren't lasting very long (maybe a few days), he has areadly built about 4, but I think he's given up now! haha :D

Can you give us some updated photos?
