Hello AC.
Well, I've enjoyed reading every ones paludarium builds while researching and designing my own. So now that It's in the works I thought it would be fun to share my own.

I'm starting small with a ten gal, that was my first mistake. (Plans for a bigger one are already in the works.) I wanted to get started on my first paludarium and a ten was available. I'm planning on two Oriental Fire Bellied Toads, provided I can find them locally, and a male Beta.

Almost everything together in one spot.

I cut the corner section from the bucket to make the waterfall/filter area. I'm planing to build a filter cartridge that will set inside the waterfall area with slits in the bottom, so that water will have to flow through the filter media and out the bottom. Then back up to the outflow.

The plexi piece will devied the rest of the tank. I was going to devied the water... My pleco just killed my gourami bu smashing her against a rock!
:mad2::swear: What a @#%@#!!!

As I was saying. I was going to put a little rappids section in but scraped that so I had to move the overflow up a little.

Just finnished gluing all the slate on. Once this drys it's time to set up the land section. I'm going to set up some artificial rain to help reduce the flow of the waterfall and to help filtration by running water over the plants and roots. The land will be built up on top of a short (3" high) shelf so that it drains back into the pump area. I don't know how well this will work but it sounded like a good way to solve the issue of draining the land area w/o drilling the glass.

Well thats it so far, will post more when I get farther along. Comments and sugestions welcome!

BTW: Is this new agression I see with my pleco a sign that he may be getting a little more territorial in his old age? Not sure if she just spooked him or what. Poor thing. :uhoh:

Peace,
Caleb
