krips....what are dimensions of your 33 qal tank. i'm interested in that size and have been looking at a 33 long...but i'm starting to get concerned that its not deep enuf at 12 inches which becomes a problem for my hob skimmer. what are you using for skim and lite?

steve

18" high, 12" wide, 36" long.... ;). Its a pretty nice size. Skimmer is a Prizm, works pretty good on this size tank. Lighting is a Coralife Aqualight PC 196 watts.

Thanks for the compliments! The trick is... practice! You just gotta fool around with the settings. What cam is it? I prefer to use manual mode, but maybe try the automatic to start with just to get used to the camera. I've had mine a year and there is still so much to learn about it. It also depends on your lens, the standard lens will give you good results but a great lens is where its at! I didnt use flash for any of those shots because there is so much light on the tank, and flash sometimes makes the colors off. Also my speedlight doesnt reach over the edge of the lens, so I might have to look into a slave. Try visiting a photography forum such as aquatic-photography.com and do some reading. It all takes pratice!
