Hi, recently my angelfish spawned and i moved the eggs to a 1 gallon jar and also the heater that is supposed to be for my 60 gallon tank to the jar also. if i just moved it without changing any settings it should keep the same temperature right? or would the jar be too small for that kind of heater?

it's depend on the heater, for those large heater, they output so much heat that sometime the water heat up too quick (especially in smaller than intended volume of water) and control can't really keep up with the change in temperature which lead to higher temperature than you want.
example: you may find that if you stick your 60g heater in a 1g jar, even if you set your heater @ 65F the water will be something like 80F

Be careful!

i wouldn't keep the heater in that jar, it'll heat up the water too fast and too much. why not float the jar in the tank to keep the temp stable?

i understand your thinking kanvas, i will try another route.
and thats a great idea bettafishmommy, i think i will do that!
