hello,
i'll probably be getting a 60 gallon this week for my babies, comets and a shubunkin. they're in a 20 right now, which is, as you can imagine, a bit of a squeeze on me, changing water all the time, and a major squeeze on the bioload. so much poop!
i'd like to create a natural goldfish habitat theme in the new tank, but i haven't seen a goldfish aquarium done this way. all the asian-themed tanks i've seen hold bettas or barbs- tropical fish. i can't even find a description of the natural habitat of the crucian carp!
also, i'd like to use some plastic/silk bamboo, but i'm not sure if this would be accurate. it's just an idea. and mind you, all my plants are silk now. i'm not interested in a planted tank, but i can find a wide assortment of silk plants in my LFSes to suit my needs.
can anyone direct me to a website where i can see a tank themed to mimic a natural goldfish/koi/crucian carp habitat?

heres my goldfish tank 3 years ago. its changed alot since then. Though sadly i still dont have a camera......

comets make good pond fish, indeed, but they are fine for aquariums as well, as long as you have a large enough tank and enough energy to keep it clean! they're good for ponds because they are so hardy, they'll eat just about anything, and they can deal with a wide range of temperatures. but they make wonderful aquarium fish too.

thanks for the photo, that's the sort of thing i was thinking about. i found this other photo:

and it's sort of similar to what i was thinking about as well. anyone else have any ideas?
