Holy Smokes, i got snails.. How fast do this things reproduce?

Just the other day I could only find 5 in the tank, now like a week later, I must have at least 30.

Anyway, What FW fish will eat these friggin pond snails, and be a good tankmate for discus?

But more importantly what is this string like stuff that is covering my driftwood? Is this snail poop?
The snails are all over in this stuff, they must like it or something...

I havent even begun to cycle this tank yet... Was going to use biospira... Looks like with this much snail poop that my cycle might have started already?

I thought I had just pond snails... what do rams horns look like?

nice poop. I know loaches love snails.

holy cow ! thats a lot of poop  never knew a snail could make such a mess LOL!

Only in my tank...
I am going to get about 5 clown loaches when I am sure the tank is cycled... That'll fix 'em!!:cool-1:

Clown loaches are among the larger species seen in the trade. Horseface, Skunk, YoYo and other species are smaller and will make just as short work of the snail population. You could also manually remove them (not as tough as it sounds) and prevent serious outbreaks in the future by limiting food in the tank.

While loaches are effective snail control, they can also be quite boisterous and/or at least somewhat aggressive. They are not the best tankmates for some fish... (Angels, Discus, other species that like things to be pretty quiet & mellow, very small fish).
