I am happy I moved my betta from a 2.5 gal tank to a 10 gallon tank, today I was looking at him and noticed that he is now turning from red to a much darker blue, before he was red with a bit of blue, when I first got him he was yellow, this is the second change in color. My question is, is this ok that he is change colors for a second time, when I asked before I was told that his colors were just comming back. And if this is ok how many times can a betta's color change?

Interesting...from yellow, to red to blue....wow, that's pretty cool !

I wouldnt worry about it Mike as long as he seems to be swimming around healthy and alert. Generally, you worry about thier color when they start loosing it, which can happen when they get sick. But when they darken up it's usually a good sign...I have never had my bettas get DARKER when they are sick.

He is probably much happier in the 10 gallon and his true colors are showing -- the tiny cup in the store doesn't do them justice, a 2.5 gallon is better but a 10 gallon is great! Is he eating? Active? My betta got brighter in his blues when I put him from a bowl to his 10 gallon tank, my friends went from white to yellow/red and blue.

He is eating, and active, he does like to fight his reflection alot, but you can see his new colors here
http://www.mikeoconnor.net/Photos/thumbnails.php?album=38 And you can see his old colors here http://www.mikeoconnor.net/Photos/thumbnails.php?album=30 You can see that the blue on his fin has gone alot further down and up and back. And the back of his body is starting to deapen in color. Also it does not show well but his pectoral fins, now have blue going down 1/2 of the fine. I also included a picture of his new home in the first album.
