I was a little bored so I took some photos of my 29 gallon planted tank and decided to post one of them.

Tank Specs:

Filter: Penguin Biowheel 200 (With Purigen as my chemical media)
Size: 29 Gallon
Substrate: Course River Gravel
Lighting: 3 Florescent Tubes (Total Wattage: 60w)
CO2: 1 Hagen Yeast Reactor (DIY: Yeast Mix)
Plants: Elodea, Giant Vallisneria, Unknown Swordplant, Bannana Plant

Maybe one of you can identify what type of plant the swordplant on the right hand side is next to the vallisneria for me.

It looks, to me, like a regular Amazon Sword. I have a few of them too. When in doubt, check out Plantgeek. You'll find tons of information there.

your plants seem to be doing fine. the tank looks a little bare to me though. I would try to save up some more money for some hardy plants and plant it a little more heavily. But that aside i think it looks pretty decent.

I don't think its an amazon swordplant since there is barely any stem on the leaves.

This tank is still relatively new so I am still busy propogating the plants to densen up the substrate. I've got a vallisneria plantlet behind the bannana plant and the anacharis is quite small because I just made some cuttings of it for my other tanks (mostly to provide my goldfish with some veggies). As for the aquascaping, I am trying to use the rule of thirds to create a pleasing look.

That pretty much looks exactly like my Amazon Sword. Its leaves will get broader the long it is in the tank. Those look like emersed leaves and not submerged leaves.

I got the plant as a little plantlet with about 3 leaves on it and it has grown fully submerged for about 1 1/2 months now. It has about 1 foot of water on top of the plant.

Your tank is very interesting. I've never seen a val with so many leaves and no runners. Maybe the runners are super tight together and I can't tell.

For that amazon, I'd say there's a possibility it's a different type than the common variety. At first I thought it was a normal amazon sword too but with your light levels I would expect it to be bigger.

Still, I just went through all the swords at tropica and didn't see anything similar. Based on the leaf texture and pattern I'd say it's most likely an ordinary amazon sword.

When I planted it, I wrapped the roots in peat and I think that restricted the runners. It still was able to send off runners though and yes for some reason they grew very close to each other. That val is actually 2 plants right on top of each other with a 3rd plant currently on the way 1/2 of an inch next to its parents. Its very interesting.

Edit: Actually it looks like 3 plants on top of each other. I think the the runners are restricted and bend up causing this. Looks very nice to have this dense vallisneria in the corner. Good Nitrate sponge also.
