making a homemade aquarium

Just wondering what is all involved in making an aquarium, my boyfriend wants to make me a fish tank. What materials would be best to use? anything that we should look out for when getting the materials? Has anyone on this site made one before, if so do you have pictures that I could take a look at to get some ideas.

the best materials are plexiglass.. and there are certain thicknesses required for the hight of the prospective tank.. and keep is simple but make soule you have it well supported so it wont bust on you and have you redo the whole thing
