I love Magnum intake/outlet pipes and would really appreciate if someone can post their diameter. I want to know if they are compatible with 12mm ID tubing or 16mm ID tubing. If they are, I'll replace my Eheim pipes with them. I love Eheim but can't stand the green pipes anymore :y220d:

Paint will eventually peel off.

I believe the Magnum 350 hose is 5/8 ID which is very close to the 16 mm ID hose and should be OK. You can reassure yourself by looking up a conversion table and translate millimeters to inches but I think you will find they are acceptably close. Also Eheim sells upgraded intake pipes and a spray bar that are very nice and are clear gray almost like the Aquaclear intakes in appearance. They are well designed and make priming the canister a snap.

Thanks. 5/8" ID = 16mm ID. I do own a couple upgraded Eheim pipe kits, but each kit is over $20. So, I'd spend more than $40 per Eheim filter. The Magnum intake and outlet pipes would cost less than $10 and I prefer the spray nozzle to the spray bar.

If you go with the magnum pipes be sure to pick up the assembly that holds them on the tank. The part is cheap and secure. I used a Mag 350 for years and never had a minutes trouble with any of it.

Thanks for the information. I'll run an Eheim 2215 on a 20L with a black backround. The Magnum pipes are perfect for that tank, length-wise and color-wise.

I think the Eheim 2215 uses 12mm input and outputs. You are going to have a problem with the Magnum 350 parts due to diameter difference. You would have to have some kind of 12mm to 16mm connector to make that work if indeed you are talking about the Magnum 350 parts.

Thanks for your concern. I do have 16mm-to-12mm adapters. I just hoped Magnum wouldn't use a proprietary diameter like 14mm!

If you take your Eheim canister top with you to Home Depot you cab go the the hose section and match fit from the hoses they have on reel. I recommend the smooth reinforced clear hose. Also you can go over to the outdoor sprinkler area and match up 1/2" or 5/8" black rigid tubing about $4 for 25' making any combination of rigid elbows or U shape hangers for just a few dollars and have 25 feet left over for all future projects.

This way you can buy what exactly fits. It all I use to all my hose and extension needs.
