Lucky bamboo

Does anybody know if lucky bamboo is the same as Blyxa japonica?

they grow great in aquarium as long as the leaves are above water with legendary plastic plant hardiness. However their root system will become MASSIVE and a nightmare to maintain unless you have very thick substrate in the tank.

No they are two totally different things.

I'm not sure exactly but I've heard "Blyxa Japonica" being called a bamboo. I'm not positive so don't quote me. But, Lucky Bamboo and Blyxa Japonica are totally different species.

There is a plant, polygonum, that a lot of people use the common name bamboo as.

You're not wrong Chris, "bamboo plant" was a common name for Blyxa japonica once upon a time.
