low light coldwater plants

does anyone know of any good plants to use for a 48x18inch tank that has no extra light other than a window but it is NEXT to the tank - and the temp is around 19-21c

theres no way i can add light. i have a light but with just a low watt blue bulb for viewing pleasure which i still dont really use as the axolotls do not like it.

i have a few plants that i think may suit - elodea densa, anubias nana javafern and javamoss

I kept hearing that Hornwort was very good for low light and cold water. I got a bunch today- $2 for a bundle.

I have java fern and java moss in a 10 gallon that I try to keep around 68F. They grow far too well but do take a few weeks to really start showing much growth.

Hornwort needs lots of light and cold water.

Hmm. We'll see if a screen lid and compact flourescent light will be enough.

Maybe try Hygrophilia Stricta, I've had some luck with it growing in low-light and it didn't seem to mind the cold water in my 10 gallon. I had it in the bathroom where the window was open. I didn't realise at the time it was getting so cold in there, but the water was only 10-15 degrees celcius, so my red-crab must have been cold!

If not this, Marimo balls are great.
