light bulbs from walmart

i recently bought 2 bulbs there that were labeled daylight bulbs and had 20 watts each with 6,500 lumens or something

my question is will my plants grow in these lights?

what is your tank size?? if your tank is under 30g then you will be able to grow plants with 2 of those bulbs..

for a 10g that would be high light
for a 20g that would be medium light (almost)
and for 30g that would be low light

what is the tank size? that is good, and I think you probably mean Kelvin rating.

Uh huh, it was probably 6500k, not 6500 lumens. The bulb would probably be around 1200 lumens or so.

yea i checked again and it said daylight 6,500k
im only using one over a 5.5 gallon shrimp tank

homedepot sells incandescent bulbs for plants and tube fluorescent. The tube fluorescent arnt really enough to get plants growing unless you get a pair of them over the tank and even then with the t8 you are limited..
