Lifespan of Various Fish

Hi all I've often wondered about our great hobby & in particular the lifespan of our fishes .... Does anyone know the lifespan for instance of a Frontosa's??
I found out a Corydoras is around 5 years & I was told a Plecostumus might reach 30 year old .... Any thoughts please, or can anyone reply with a site with info about this subject ...

Here's a fairly long list. It lists Frontosa as living an average of 8-15 years for instance. I wonder how many fish in aquariums actually ever approach their typical lifespan.

I generally find that the larger the eventual size of the fish the long the lifespan too. Although this is obviously very general, I'm sure there are plenty of cases where this doesn't apply.

funny? the tetras only seem to last a day or so in my tank. goldfish live to be about 1 hour.

Those lifspans may represent some sort of community tank average, but in an experienced fishkeeper's hands I suspect they are quite short in relation to reality. Cardinals 4 years? You are not doing something right - in my moderately hard alkaline water they average half again that. Figure 8 puffer 5 years? Pathetic - mid to high teens is more like it. Clown loaches are forever, like parrots (the birds, not the fish there), so at least on that one they go open-ended.

I think it would be all but impossible to set lifespans without a big hedge on tank setups and companions and care level. Compatability and feeding and upkeep play major roles obviously.

Five of them eh? What size aquarium are these five loaches in, if you do not mind my asking?
