Just bought clown plecos from Petsmart - can they be put together with Discus?

$1 sale this month!! I think they made a mistake but who am I to argue!

I know it is recommended to place bristled nose plecos with Discus (anyone know why?), but has anyone used clown plecos?

I keep 2 clown plecos with a fully grown Angelfish. Plus the plecos do get up to 3-4" so they should be fine with Discus. The discus won't be able to harm them, due to a harden shell and spiny spikes.

I have a own in a community tank with 2 BN and several types of shrimp as well. Make sure you have driftwood in your tank.

BN seem more common. That seems to be why they're kept with discus more often. I haven't seen anything to indicate otherwise, and judging by what I see in various LFS, clowns are much less common.

I know that the regular pleco's can get very big. I actually don't see many BN's. Petsmart has pleco's algae eaters albino/pepper cats & tetras on sale for $1. But when I asked for the $1 pleco's they didn't have any until came upon the clown pleco tank - I bought 5 at $1 each! Their pretty small about 2" - think I will introduce a couple of them along with some albino's.
